A Tradition of Excellence, a Commitment to Service

The law firm of Ankeles, Vontzalides, Ambeliotis & Delaney has its roots in the heart of Peabody, Massachusetts since its founding in 1936 by Abraham Ankeles. Abraham was a well respected politician and attorney in Peabody and eventually became presiding judge at the Peabody District Court.

Abraham’s brother, Harry, and his son, David, (who continues to have a very active law practice) later joined the firm, which was known as Ankeles & Ankeles. Attorneys Marshall Harmon and Leonard Bonfanti became partners in 1975 and the firm changed its name to Ankeles, Harmon & Bonfanti (AH&B). AH&B continued to grow and became one of the North Shore’s most prominent law firms during the next twenty five years.

The turn of the century coincided with a new generation of attorneys and partners joining the firm, which is now known as Ankeles, Vontzalides, Ambeliotis & Delaney. Athan Vontzalides, who had worked as an Associate at AH&B since 1984, became a partner in the firm in 1999.

Nick Ambeliotis had independently operated his law practice for several years when he accepted an invitation to merge his practice with the firm in 2000 and became a partner.  During the first decade of this century the firm added more talent when Bill Delaney and Jack O’Keefe, both of whom who has been practicing law for over twenty years, became of counsel attorneys with the firm. Bill’s son Patrick recently passed the Massachusetts Bar Exam and is now an Associate with the firm.

The firm has earned a reputation for professionalism, integrity and service.
